Twisted Warriors - Hand made Desktop Wire Warriors

Filed under: General, Links — Jeremiah @ 8:36 pm

These little guys are very cool! Twisted Warriors

I think I need the whole set. ;-)

From the selling website:

These stunning wire warrior sculptures are wound and assembled by hand so each one is unique. Each warrior has the unmistakable Anime/Mecha look with incredibly intricate detailing. They stand on their own approximately 7-9 inches tall (depending on headgear) and can be posed and positioned to suit you. You’ll be amazed they are constructed entirely of simple wire!

Free File Format Conversion Utility

Filed under: General, Links — Jeremiah @ 8:35 pm

Fred’s post today on Fragments reminded me of this link I had in the queue:

It’s a free (with adverts) file conversion utility. I just tested it with a powerpoint file, and it worked pretty well.
it seems to be a pretty good way to convert files to pdf.
(you need to have the originating program installed for most formats, so maybe not a very good general converter.)

Photographs from around the world

Filed under: General, Links — Jeremiah @ 7:39 pm

I found this site a while back. It’s pretty nifty.

Called “trekearth”, it’s intended for posting photos documenting life in different countries.

Netflix for Books?

Filed under: General, Links — Jeremiah @ 7:54 pm

Found a website the other day that services readers like netflix services movie watchers.

It’s called Booksfree.com, and for $12.99 a month you can have 4 books out at a time.

The website search and the book descriptions leave a lot to be desired, but the service itself seems reasonable.

It took them 6 days to get the first 4 books to me, and I’m about to go read one now.

So, if you’re like me, and too lazy to get to the library, or if your local library doesn’t have the books you want, then check Booksfree out.
